During the schematic design process, a revolutionary decision was made to shift the initial concept of four attached townhouses to that of two freestanding duplexes within two allotments. This bold move not only enabled a significant reduction in town planning requirements, but also allowed the built form to seamlessly blend with the character of the street. Each duplex is designed to exude its own unique identity on the street fronts, while still maintaining a cohesive development through the utilization of similar materials. With Miami’s close proximity to the beach, the use of a light color palette, including white weatherboards and timber-appearance cladding, was essential in appealing to potential buyers.
